In order to fulfill its primary task of providing help to citizens in emergency situations, its technical and staff capacities must be strengthened. This will require 10 million KM.

Bosnian and Herzegovinian Armed Forces Celebrate Fifth Birthday

An Occasion for Praise and Renewed Commitment to Obligations

The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) celebrated its fifth birthday on December 1st. The event was marked by a solemn alignment of commands and units at the Rajlovac Military Barracks in Sarajevo. Since the integration of the military, successors of the armed forces that participated in the aggression against BiH from 1992 to 1995 have shown that responsible cooperation can contribute greatly to reform processes within a post-conflict society.

NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, in cooperation with EUFOR, BiH Ministry of Defense, BiH Ministry of Security, the Armed Forces of BiH, SIPA, Border Police, Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs, the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs, Professional Firefighter Brigade of the Sarajevo Canton and Emergency Service Sarajevo, organized manifestation „Open Security Days“ to present themselves to citizens of Sarajevo.

At a lecture held at the Economics Faculty in Sarajevo, Ambassador Jan Braathu spoke about NATO's foundations and core values. The Ambassador also addressed the Alliance's relationship with Russia, the recent summit in Lisbon and BiH's Euro-Atlantic integration process.
